The Tamil Nadu government is working on a scheme to power the growth of MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) in the automotive sector, according to Ambuj Sharma, Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries & Commerce, Government of Tamil Nadu.
“In the next three months, we want to come out with a Tamil Nadu-specific policy or mission plan for enhancing and accelerating the growth of the auto MSMEs,” he said while addressing a CII conference on automotive R&D.
A focus group has been set up for the above purpose after a meeting with the industry stakeholders.
“The prime focus areas of the mission plan will be demand creation, R &D and skill upgradation. Also, other kinds of support in terms of providing land and financing will be worked out, he said.
