The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(FICCI) is keep on questioning the domestic gas price formula stating that current distortions in the pricing of gas has hindered the development of the gas industry in India. According to FICCI, the pricing of domestically produced gas is significantly lower than the levels that are necessary.
In a representation to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, the industry association said the current price is not enough to give domestic gas producers a fair return to cover their risk capital involved in the exploration and production business.
